The Debonaires have been a linchpin of California’s gorgeous Ska scene for more than 20 years, paying tribute to the classic sounds of Jamaican Ska, Rocksteady, and Reggae.
Established in 1995 in Riverside near Los Angeles, The Debonaires, known for their exciting live performances, have taken several national tours and played most American festivals. In 2014 they released the exquisite album „Movin““, surely one of the best authentic ska albums in recent years. It also featured special guest vocalists Angelo Moore of Fishbone, Vic Ruggiero of The Slackers, and Chris Murray. They have had the honour of sharing the stage with many of the very Jamaican legends whose music inspired them to form, as well as contemporary favorites including The Skatalites, Desmond Dekker, Laurel Aitken, Justin Hinds, Phyllis Dillon, The Specials, Easy Star All Stars, Fishbone, Hepcat, The Slackers, The Aggrolites, The Toasters, and Voodoo Glow Skulls.
Quite surprisingly, they have never played in Europe so far – an omission we just had to correct, so we invited them to Freedom Sounds 2018! In addition to presenting their own set, they will also back Susan Cadogan.
