2014 has been a great year. Thank you very much to all the people who have contributed to Freedom Sounds Festival and made it what it is.
The artists who gave so many unforgettable performances:
Bim Skala Bim, Mick Clare & Alan Bray, The Clerks, Zoe Devlin, Vin Gordon, The Heavy Allstars, Jamaika Jupp, Joe Scholes, Johnny Reggae Rub Foundation, Keith & Tex, Maroon Town, Masons Arms, Miss Megumi, Mr. T-Bone, Pannonia Allstars Ska Orchestra, The Nicks, The Senior Allstars, Tommy Tornado, Eddie Tan Tan Thornton and The Trojans.
The people who helped bringing all these artists to Cologne, some of them for the very first time: Oliver Will and Rocking Steady Music, Florian at Klassenfahrt Booking, Marc Varesco and Ralf Koppelkamp (Scorcha), who also designed our posters and flyers.
The DJs and soundsystems who let us dance the nights away: Masa, Gaz Mayall, Frank Sturm, Wicked BigHead, Commander K, Conjahs Fiyah Soundsystem, Ska-Ba-Dub and Vibe Explosion.
Brad Klein, who not only honoured us with the German premiere of his wonderful film Legends Of Ska, but also spontaneously stepped in as MC for the event.
Tobi Dahmen for presenting his Fahrradmod project in an exhibition at Backstreet Bikes.
The team behind the scenes: Bettina, Julia, David & David, Leonore, Lisa and Sven for taking care of the artists and the backstage area; Steve, Dirk, Steffi, Frank, Andreas and Marcel for helping at the door. Andre Meyer and Tom Buentgens for the excellent sound and all the friendly and relaxed staff at Gebäude 9.
Our media partners: Funkhaus Europa, Dynamite, Riddim, Reggaeville, Rockingsteady, Stadtrevue, Stadt-Anzeiger, Skalovers and Reggae Steady Ska.
And last, but in no way least: All the people who supported the festival by buying tickets, by dancing and by making the weekend one massive party. You are keeping the scene alive!
We are looking forward to doing it all again in 2015… with you!
Cheers,
Sven, Uli, Peter and the rest of the Freedom Sounds Crew
